All undergraduate students are automatically considered for scholarships as part of the application process. Graduate students can find guidance on how to fund their studies, including assistantships, on the Graduate College website.

The Office of Scholarships and Office of External Fellowships provide guidance to current UIC students on locating and applying for funding. The Office of International Affairs and the Office of International Services both manage scholarships specific to international education.

The Office of International Services provides pre-departure advising and comprehensive orientation programs to help international students ease into life in the U.S. and at UIC. Visit their website for more information or send an email to the New International Student Team at newintl@uic.edu.

Students seeking additional support with English language can consider short courses, tutoring, and editing services through the Tutorium in Intensive English.

In addition, through our partnership, UIC Global provides tutoring and other additional support services for students in the UIC Global programs.

The Student Employment Office assists students through the process of finding and securing on-campus, student hourly jobs. Graduate assistantships are not managed through any one office but UIC Human Resources has very helpful page to get you started with understanding the world of assistantships.

International students with questions about their employment eligibility should consult the Office of International Services prior to accepting an offer of employment.

The Tutorium in Intensive English has multiple English as a Foreign Language programs for different levels of English-speaking abilities.

Other ways to globally engage right here on-campus include living in Campus Housing’s International Perspectives LLC, participating in Trade Winds, getting involved in one of UIC’s international centers, institutes or academic programs, practicing a new language at the Language and Culture Learning Center, or joining one of the many student organizations focused on diverse cultural experiences.
