Our Mission
The Office of Global Engagement supports UIC’s Strategy for Global Engagement and Internationalization. We welcome and promote a deeper understanding and appreciation for national, linguistic, religious, and cultural identities as a critical component in UIC’s mission to provide the broadest access to the highest levels of academics, research, and clinical excellence. In support of UIC’s mission, OGE collaborates with colleges and other units across the university to expand the opportunities for faculty and students to engage in global learning and research to further UIC’s vision to serve the citizens of Chicago and the world by being an international leader in research, scholarship, and innovation, and by creating a globally connected campus community. By fostering a globally enriched and engaged UIC community, we empower our faculty, staff, and students to address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

The globally connected campus
The Office of Global Engagement collaborates with colleges and departments across UIC to expand the opportunities for faculty and students to engage in global learning and research. This includes developing faculty-led study abroad programs, exchanges, contract programs, and research collaborations.
