Transform your views of the world. Transform the world.

It’s our mission to create knowledge that transforms our views of the world and, through sharing and application, transforms the world. And we take that mission seriously.

At UIC you’ll witness and experience firsthand the many ways in which this forward-thinking community not only transforms our individual and collective views of the world, but also transforms the world through the knowledge we create.

And you’ll have access to a variety of study abroad programs, global learning experiences, scholarships, awards, and fellowships to help you shape your academic experience and prepare you for the challenges and demands of the 21st century.

The Office of International Services provides pre-departure advising and comprehensive orientation programs to help international students ease into life in the U.S. and at UIC. Visit their website for more information or send an email to the New International Student Team at newintl@uic.edu.

Students seeking additional support with English language can consider short courses, tutoring, and editing services through the Tutorium in Intensive English.

In addition, through our partnership, UIC Global provides tutoring and other additional support services for students in the UIC Global programs.

The Office of International Services provides pre-departure advising to incoming international students. Visit their website or send an email to their New International Student Team at newintl@uic.edu.

The Tutorium in Intensive English has multiple English as a Foreign Language/English as a Second Language programs for different levels of English-speaking abilities.

The Student Employment Office assists students through the process of finding and securing on-campus, student hourly jobs. Graduate assistantships are not managed through any one office but UIC Human Resources has very helpful page to get you started with understanding the world of assistantships.

International students with questions about their employment eligibility should consult the Office of International Services prior to accepting an offer of employment.

The Study Abroad Office can help you explore all the options for study abroad and how to make it work for you. Get started with a First Steps advising session.
