The UIC Office of Global Engagement has updated the International Travel Safety Policy, effective immediately.
This International Travel Safety Policy governs all University Sponsored International Travel by UIC faculty members, staff, and students. Its purpose is to ensure faculty members, staff and students have essential information to make informed and safe decisions about International Travel and to reduce institutional risk
The new key point in the policy is that any faculty or staff member who is traveling internationally on UIC-related business must enroll in the International Travel Safety portal. Employees who enroll receive Gallagher comprehensive insurance at no additional cost.
Pre-approval of international travel as part of an Outside Activity must be obtained through UIC Research – COI.
