UIC’s Brian Anderson Selected as Fulbright U.S. Scholar

The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Program selected Brian Anderson, UIC Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Industrial Design, as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2024-2025 for Japan.

Fulbright Scholar Awards are prestigious and competitive fellowships for scholars to teach and conduct research abroad. Fulbright scholars also play a critical role in U.S. public diplomacy, establishing long-term relationships between people and nations.

Alumni of the Fulbright Program include 62 Nobel Laureates, 89 Pulitzer Prize winners, 80 MacArthur Fellows, and thousands of leaders and world-renowned experts in academia and many other fields across the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Brian Anderson is an industrial designer with interests in ethical innovation and advanced fabrication. His design practice Studio(ba) (https://www.studioba.org) centers on design development and small-batch production, design education, and object and surface prototyping.
