International Delegations & Distinguished Guests
Introduction
UIC welcomes international delegations and distinguished guests for short visits throughout the academic year, primarily in the Fall and Spring semesters. Before planning your visit, consult UIC's academic calendar to ensure that the dates you select avoid holidays and breaks.
Please note the following:
- The Office of Global Engagement facilitates short-term visits of delegations and distinguished guests, typically lasting no more than two days, that involve higher-ranking officials from foreign universities, larger visiting delegations representing multiple academic programs at a foreign university, or government representatives. Sufficient advanced notice of the proposed visit is necessary for the Office of Global Engagement to plan an itinerary. As much information as possible should be provided on the form below.
- UIC's academic units (Colleges/Departments) must take the lead in planning itineraries for delegations from equivalent academic programs at a foreign university, or for other groups of international visitors visiting UIC for the sole purpose of meeting with that academic unit. A meeting with representatives from the Office of Global Engagement should be included in the itinerary as appropriate. UIC's academic units are encouraged to complete the International Visitors form so that UIC has an official record of the visit.
